1. What We Collect

We collect the minimum necessary to operate the app:

• Email address or sign-in token (for account creation only)
• Your swipe responses (which principle you chose per dilemma)
• Optional: approximate location (if you opt in) and anonymous usage analytics

2. Fully Anonymized Data Sharing

Any data shared externally or used in research is fully anonymized. This means it is stripped of all identifiers before leaving our systems and can never be traced back to you individually. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to:

• Show you aggregate insights (e.g. how others answered)
• Improve the dilemma content and app experience
• Generate anonymized ethical trend reports (if you opt in to Data Share)

4. Location Data

Location is opt-in only. If enabled, we collect an approximate geohash (not your precise coordinates) and use it only in aggregated heatmaps. Your location is never stored individually or linked to your responses.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by emailing hello@byteme.ltd with the subject line “Delete My Account”. We will verify account ownership and complete deletion within 7 days. See our full deletion policy for details.

6. Security

We use Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage, with industry-standard security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app.
